Diana's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

Introduction

2 years + 5 days!!

Jessica's birthday was Wednesday, and my birthday was Sunday. So... for the first time in over two years, Carl and I got to spend a weekend without Jessica. We went to Niagara Falls, and Jessie spent the weekend with her Aunt Joan.

We hear that Jessie was a perfect angel. She went to bed on time (which is a feat that cannot be accomplished in this house!) with very little fuss. She only cried for a few minutes after we left and was fine the rest of the weekend. In fact, when we picked her up on Sunday afternoon, she seemed like she wanted to stay at Aunt Joan's instead of coming home. I think she wasn't sure what to feel. She probably felt a little hurt that we had left her for two whole days. It didn't take her long to be her normal lovey self though.. only about half an hour.

Carl and I joked around about not having anything to talk about besides Jessie.. and it was a joke, because we had plenty to talk about. What a relief! I'd heard so many horror stories about people who finally get a weekend without the kids and have NOTHING to talk about. We only called home twice to check on Jessie, and both times were assured that she was perfectly fine. It was so nice to get away, but I also couldn't wait to get home and give Jessie a big hug and a kiss.

Now I have tons of homework to do today and tomorrow, and today is half over. Yikes.

Jessica is such a big girl. She loves to "read" books and to color. Her baby doll is her favorite toy in the world. She also likes her "bikey." She likes to play "round-round" (ring-around-the-rosie) with Mommy. I just can't believe all the things she has picked up recently. We bought her the baby doll about 2 or 3 weeks before her birthday, and when I took it out to wrap it, she said "baby" even though she hadn't seen it since we bought it! She just amazes me on a daily basis. Her most recent thing is to pick up her telephone and say "eh-yo" and then hand it to me for me to say "hello." What a cutie!

Well, that's all I can think of right now and I need to get going on my homework.

Until next time...
Diana & Jessica
