Diana's Diary EntriesDiary Navigation: |

To my dearest Jessica.....
There is no way you can understand how I feel today until you have a little girl of your own. I looked at you this morning and you looked so grown up! All of a sudden you are not a baby, but a beautiful little girl. You are growing up so fast.
Today you are two. Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you every day for the wonderful things you do and the amazing little person you are.. but today we reflect on the past two years and all the joy you have brought to our lives. We never imagined just what was in store for us two years ago when you were born. All we were thinking of was how excited we were to finally see you face to face. You were the cutest little baby we had ever seen. And now.. now that you are a big girl.. you are still the cutest little girl we know. You are beautiful, bright, and sweet. We love you with all our hearts.
Your birthday party was last night. You had lots of visitors to celebrate your birthday with you: Grandma and Grandpa, Uncle Ben, Aunt Diane, Eb, Betsy, Tim, Uncle Jim, Sara, Shannon, Aunt Joan, Mike, Eric, and Melissa. We got you a nice marble cake with a horse just like Duke on it. You had a candle shaped like a "2" and the cake said "Happy 2nd Birthday, Jessica!" Mommy helped you blow out your candle. You had cake and vanilla ice cream, and you ate it like a big girl with hardly any mess! You opened your presents with a little help from Daddy: a dress with a picture of a girl on it, two pairs of pretty shoes, a blanket and slippers that zip up inside a matching pillow, two pairs of blue jeans, two videos, and your favorite.. a baby doll. We all had so much fun at your party!
It is still hard to believe that you are two already. I think that you will always be my baby girl, no matter how old you are. You are my pride and joy, and I love you with all of my heart and soul and mind.
Happy birthday, sweet pea!
Love,
Mommy
