22-1/2 months...
Well, today was our first day back to school. Jessica seemed to sense it from the moment she got up this morning; she was extra clingy and whiney as I was changing her and getting her dressed for school. We got to school at 9:00: breakfast time in the Toddler II room! Jessie wanted nothing to do with eating, however, and just whined and clung to me. Fortunately, I had a full hour before my first class, so I just sat there with her so that she would eat her breakfast. After she ate and got cleaned up, she went into the room with all the other kids and started playing. From that moment on she basically forgot I was there! I left there around 9:30, and she seemed perfectly fine. When I went back to pick her up at 3:00, she was SO happy to see me! I picked her up and she gave me a kiss immediately. She just melts my heart with her sweet little kisses! Her teachers said that she didn't say a word all day long, and that she was "okay" (although not "wonderful") but gave them a little trouble at nap time. She did, however, end up sleeping for almost an hour-and-a-half, so I am very pleased about that. After her day of silence at daycare, Jessie came home and jibber-jabbered up a storm! I was sitting on the sofa reading some of my homework, and she came and sat next to me and put her finger on the page and started "reading" along with me. It was adorable! She didn't stop talking until bath time, which was late tonight--around 9:00. What a long day for a little girl!
Classes went well for me. I am very pleased with all of my professors and with the course outlines. I do have a TON of reading to do this semester, though, but not many papers to write. I think it will turn out just fine.. yes, even history!
That's all I have to share for tonight, because my eyes are about to close of their own free will. I do have some more homework I would like to get done tonight, but, alas.. there are not enough hours in the day! Tomorrow I will have lots of free time to get things done, since I only have one class and Jessie is scheduled for the same six hours that she had today at daycare. Anyway, I hope everyone has a great week!
Tootles,
Diana and Jessica
