Debbie's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

October 30, 2000

Hello all!!! It's been awhile since we've checked in. Sorry about that, we've just been busy. Amidst all the other things we've been doing, I've tried to make our home look Halloween-ish. I didn't get all the decorations up, but I did get many of them up.

We had a little Halloween party tonight for the kids in the family, complete with costume parades and pumpkin carving. It was great fun and I think the adults enjoyed it just as much as the kids did. Nathan really likes his Teletubby costume (Dipsey), and looks adorable in it. The plan for Halloween is that Rich will take Nathan trick-or-treating, while I man the door for neighborhood kids that visit us. We can't wait (especially Rich) because this will be the first Halloween that Nathan will kind of know what's going on.

Nathan ran around the house all day today saying "pumpkin." But he didn't like it too well when we started to carve them, because then he accused me of "breaking pumpkin." His vocabulary skills are impressive to us because he seems to be picking up words at an alarmingly fast rate. He is also doing well with putting sentences together. Although he is talking quite well, it took us awhile to figure out why he was so sick last week. Nathan had his very first ear infection last week, and although we knew he was unhappy, we couldn't tell what was hurting and he wasn't pointing to his ear.

After a week of not feeling well, Nathan seems to be back to his old jolly self. He is running and playing like there is no tomorrow. The most enjoyable sight is to see him playing with his cousins. Although they always have a good time, we have to keep a careful eye out for rough play, especially when the two boys get together.

Nathan is pooped from his day of Halloween fun, and so are we. So until next time, take care.
