4/26/00Hello everyone!
We Schells are doing well. Nathan's language skills continue to grow and impress us. He seems to be learning words at a faster pace than we expected. Even words that I have not taught him yet, he repeats after just hearing them for the first time.
Last weekend was a lot of fun. We went to Easter Service at our church and Nathan actually slept through most of it. I wasn't complaining, but I did not try to put him to sleep. He usually is pretty well behaved in church, so I wasn't too worried about him acting up.
Later in the day we did Easter egg coloring for Nathan and his cousin Alex. After about five minutes, Nathan got bored and fell asleep in Rich's arms, but 3-year-old Alex stayed with it for the whole time. Alex was very interested in the process and helped pick out the colors for each egg.
When we got home later that night I gave Nathan the two eggs Alex helped me make for him and he promptly smashed the two eggs together and cracked the shells. At first I took them away and told him that he shouldn't ruin the pretty eggs. But then I gave them right back because, after all they were his eggs. Maybe next year he'll be old enough to realize that smashing the eggs together is not such a good idea. If not, I'll have to make some extra eggs for myself so that we can have pretty eggs around the house for at least a couple days!!
Take care all, Debbie, Rich and Nathan
