4/5/00 Journal EntryHi all!
It's been a pretty unremarkable week in our lives, except for Nathan of course. He truly acts as if every day is just another opportunity for him to run, laugh and play. That's the way it should be for kids. Besides learning and progressing, we strive to make his life as carefree as possible. He deserves it because he will grow up all too quickly and discover that life can be tough. For now his days are filled with Barney, bananas and exploration. It seems like he picks up new words left and right. He now says "toe" and grabs his foot. He also likes to demonstrate that he knows what "eye" means by poking me in mine.
Nathan got the second haircut of his life yesterday, so we expect the comments of "what a cute girl" will cease for awhile. Although I've never been a big fan of men with long hair (just a personal preference), I can't bear the thought of my little Nathan with a buzz cut. So when the nice lady asked if we wanted it short or long, I quickly replied "medium". Maybe as it gets warmer I'll warm up to idea of a short haircut for him. I see lots of other little boys with short haircuts and they look completely adorable, so I'm sure Nathan would look fine. But for now I'm still attached to his "baby curls."
Rich and I are busily trying to plan a family vacation. We haven't been on a vacation in over two years, so we're looking forward to it. Whereas sandy beaches and pretty blue water used to be enough for us, we now have to take Nathan's enjoyment into consideration. I know he's too young yet for Disney World, but we want to make sure he has a great time. If anyone has any suggestions about toddler-friendly vacations, please let us know.
bye, from Debbie, Rich and Nathan.
