Hello all!! Nathan, Rich and I have been doing well ... although busy with work. We are all pretty excited about the hint of spring in the air. In fact, on a particularly mild day last week, Rich came home early from work so we could take Nathan to the park. Although it was a pleasant walk (about 3 blocks) we were surprised and disappointed to see that the park had been torn up and all the playground equipment removed. We can only assume that new equipment will be coming for the summer ... so until then we will just walk push Nathan around in his little car that he got for his birthday (I don't think he will mind that one bit).Nathan has had several teeth come in lately some of which just snuck up on us without any warning or complaint, others came in with much more notice. In any case, it won't be long until he has a full set of choppers. Which means we need to try and get this biting thing under control. Although he usually only bites when he is sleepy or frustrated, even one bite is one too many for my liking. If any one has any ideas about how to get the biting under control, we would love to hear your suggestions.
There are soooo many new things he can do now: he points to objects that interest him; Rich taught him how to pucker his mouth in a kiss; he touches my nose and says "nooose"; he says "no" well and often. All of these things are incredibly cute to watch. It seems as if sometimes he just picks up on things all by himself, without any coaching from us. The most special thing he does lately is that he actually seems to enjoy listening to me read stories to him. Before he would try to grab the book away or get off the bed or play with something else. But now, he sits right down on my lap, crosses his legs and helps me flip the pages. I can't wait until he actually starts requesting that we read certain stories to him. Rich and I love to read and hope this love is passed on to our little one.
Take care all,
Nathan, Rich and Debbie
