Debbie's Diary EntriesDiary Navigation: |
January 3, 2001
Hello all!!! I know it's been quite awhile since I've checked in, but the holidays sort of took hold of us and didn't let go until just recently. We all had a great Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year.
Probably the highlight of the season was Nathan's 2nd Birthday party. It was pretty touch and go at first because Chicago weather did not want to cooperate. Although some of our out-of-town friends couldn't get past the weather, about 95% of those invited made it (including several from over 100 miles away!). At first Rich and I felt a little self-conscious about hauling people out in such weather for a 2-years old's Elmo party ... but then we just admitted to ourselves that it was also a great excuse to throw a party and have fun with friends and family.
Nathan is doing very well these days. No illness and no major accidents. His 2 year checkup went well and we were pleased as always to find that we have a pretty healthy fella. Nathan is getting to be quite independent these days. It always seems to amaze Rich that the little guy has ideas and preferences of his own. Being a 2-year-old, he is not at all bashful about letting us know what makes him happy and what doesn't. We are sooo looking forward to the year ahead and all the new things he will learn (and teach us). He got many books and educational toys for his birthday and Christmas (in addition to the really cool remote control Grinch car), so I can't wait to formally start the 1,2,3/a,b,c stuff with him. He also will be starting swimming lessons with Rich this year, so we are greatly looking forward to that ... considering how well he likes water.
Now that there are so many things going on in our lives and so many plans for the future, I sadly find that I won't have time to continue sending in the diary entries from now on. I thank all of you that have read our story and shared your comments and stories with us. Perhaps we will be back at sometime with more stories and additions to our family.
Take care and thanks again,
Rich, Debbie and Nathan :]
