*Where is Spring?*
Yet another week has gone by and still there is no sign of Spring. I am telling you I am getting real anxious for some milder weather. We did experience one mild day this week, however it was no joy. I had to work Monday, and at noon it started to snow. When I got home that afternoon the front porch needed to be shoveled, but I decided to wait until later. OF course by the time later rolled around it had turned to rain, and boy was it raining. Around supper time we noticed that all the snow near the front door has melted and was coming into our porch. At first I thought that the water came from melted snow from our boots, but when I realized that the entire mat was soaked and the water was all the way to the other side of the porch I knew there was a problem. Of course when we went to check the crawlspace that lies underneath our porch there was water dripping down onto the things we have in storage. SO while my husband was down below pulling out boxes to dry out I was upstairs sopping up water from the floor and trying to push it away from the front door. Lots of fun!

The next day the temperature dove right down to about -20 again (I'm sure this has been our coldest winter ever!) so all the snow turned water from the day before was now turned to rock hard ice. Our driveway was like a skating rink. Now today, we were hit by another storm, with about 15 cm of snow. Will it ever end? I am really looking forward to taking long walks and playing in the garden with William when Spring finally arrives. (I was sure the groundhog didn't see his shadow this year).

*Toy survey*

I have been doing some early spring cleaning this week with all the extra time I am spending indoors, and have been taking stock of the array of toys that are at William's disposal. This child is certainly not wanting for any toys and sometimes I worry that he has too many. I don't want him to take these thinks for granted.

Now I should say that for the most part he plays with all of his things, which range from stuffed animals to trucks a plenty to tools, little figurines of teletubbies and pooh etc., and things like a kick and play piano, a baby language learner and various other toys that eat up batteries. Alot of these toys have been hand me downs from older cousins, and more have been presents from relatives (mostly my mother who lives, I swear, to buy things for her grandson!)and a few of these items we have purchased ourselves.

All of this has got me wondering about the things we bought (or asked for, and this is not limited to toys) when he was a baby that we felt he just had to have, and that we realize now he could have done without. As well as those things that we feel that we could not have done without. If anyone is reading I would love to hear of any such items that along the way you have felt you could have either done without, or were glad to help. This may serve useful to anyone considering purschasing such an item. (I'll post a list of our must haves and unnecessary's on my message board as well as some things we are considering for the future.
