September 18, 2004 Bye Bye Goaties

I just sent my goats down the road in a stationwagon. I listed them on freecycle and had three people that wanted them within a day. Of course, I paid almost $300 for the two of them so it kind of sucked to give them away. And I sent a new bag of grain and a whole vial of vaccinations with them, too! But hey, I no longer have the "goat headache"...

I spent this morning stacking wood. Last fall, we had a half cord delivered and we didn't have anyplace to put it, so they unloaded it onto the ground and covered it with a tarp. My brother was here this past week and he assembled two wood racks for me using Shelflinks and 2x4's. They are both now full and I feel a little better about going into winter.

Speaking of a change of seasons, the past few days have been undecidedly fallish. Nice and cool, breezy, cloudy, and just NICE. If only it would RAIN! I don't think I'll know how to act when it does! LOL Tonight it's supposed to get down to 38 degrees. We brought wood inside, just incase!

Yesterday I got my first lymphatic drainage massage. I've never had one before and it was very different from a regular massage, but I feel a lot better today. I may have to get them regularly (although I'm not real keen on bare boobs during a massage!! ROFL)

I spoke with the Chamber of Commerce and may be redoing the town's website (which horribly needs it.) The executive director feels like it would be taking advantage of me, but promoting our town to tourists would only help my business. So we'll see...

I may take a nap now. Stacking all that wood and then wrestling goats into a vehicle are tiring.

October 8, 2004 It's October already?!?

I don't know where the time is going. I just can't seem to get anything done and the days pass me by like I'm stuck in mud to my knees.

My baby will be 3 in less than a month. I can hardly believe it. It seems like so long ago that she was born. I remember how tiny she was when they handed her wet little body to me. She's grown so much. She's developing into a sweet little girl with her own interests and passions and she's developing good manners. I'm very proud of her. My daughter.

The weather here is turning cooler. We've been having a fire in the evenings and enjoying soup now and then. Reservations have slowed way down. We're not sure if it's just the "season" or the economy or what. Whatever it is, we don't like it.

Getting rid of the goats was a good thing. It helped relieve my stress greatly. Now I need to decide whether or not to dump the Adopt-A-Highway thing or not. Every time I drive down the road, I get all stressed out because I need to pick up trash on two miles of highway, both sides of the road. I think I need to just drop it. I have enough to worry about. Maybe I'll compose that letter now.

I'm currently contemplating Christmas. Not long to go till then. I'm not sure what to do for Christmas gifts this year, but I'm thinking of doing some needlepoint. (Think Lightweight LOL) Last year we sent gifts to Earl's family and didn't get any back. He keeps saying that we're not sending anything this year (because this has happened several years in a row and we can't really afford it anyway) but I feel bad not sending SOMETHING. So we'll see. I'm looking for ideas right now.

Also on my mind. I've had bunnies since I was 4 or 5 years old. About two years ago, my last bunny died. I kind of made an agreement with myself that if I got rid of the goats, I could get bunnies. DH is not in agreement however, so I have to wait to see if he comes around to the idea. I'm looking at Holland Lops and have found a couple of breeders that I could get stock from. 21 years with bunnies, 2 without... I'm having bunny withdrawals!

October 12, 2004 Projects and more projects...

I ordered two cross stitch kits on eBay and got them today. They are more labor intensive than I had anticipated, but will give me something to do while watching tv LOL You can see them here and here Not sure who they'll be gifts for yet...

I'm doing much research on Holland Lop rabbits and breeders in California. Debating whether or I should get one now, or wait until the big show in January in Santa Rosa... Still working on Earl to get him to agree to bunnies again, too... I figure I can sell the bunnies to 4-H kids or other breeders. I'm looking for pedigreed bunnies of high quality. So we'll see.

That's about it here. I need to go lock the chickens up. They've been very happy this afternoon because I let them run around (which I rarely do.)

I have an appointment next Tuesday to get a perm. I'm hoping it will do something for my hair. LOL

We finally found a church that we like (I may have mentioned that in a previous post.) They even have a monthly scrapbooking night! And on Oct. 26, they are taking the kids to the pumpkin patch. I think we'll go along. I met the pastor's wife (also named Christy) this past week and they have a 2 year old daughter named Reagan. She and Alyssa played in Jr. Church.

I just read an article that has me waiting and watching (I'm always watching though - I am a Watcher.) On November 2, election day here in the US, a man who has just recently risen to power in the EU will be laying out his plan for peace in the middle east. So why is this important you ask? Well, bible prophesy says that a man will come out of the "revived roman empire" (EU) and sign a 7 year peace agreement with Isreal. This will usher in the 7 year tribulation period, at the end of which Christ will return to earth. Will this be THE agreement? I don't know, but it has all the makings of being it. So I watch and wait and look up... http://www.rr-bb.com

Until next time!

Christy :)
