Memorial Day Weekend was crazy busy. Lots of guests and several packages to put together. Folks were generally friendly. Reservations are slowly S L O W L Y trickling in. I'm not sure what to expect really.
I'm considering getting started on a toddler curriculum with Alyssa. It's called "Before Five in a Row" and features activities to go along with several classic childrens book (The Runaway Bunny, Goodnight Moon, and quite a few others). I just have to break down and buy the workbook and the books we don't have in the set. Alyssa's current obsessions are balloons and butterflies. Come to think of it, these have been her obsessions for quite a while LOL I got out her trike yesterday, but she still can't reach the peddles. Every time the phone rings, she says "PHONE!!!" and then says "Wanna talk to Grandma?" She also regularly has this one conversation "Where's the balloon? Where did the balloon go? I don't know where it is. Where is it?" It absolutely AMAZES me that she knows how to correctly structure sentences! How the heck do they learn that on their own? It's totally wild. She also likes to look out the window and say "That's a green tree. Yes it is. That's right. Green tree." Too funny. I can't imagine where she gets the chatterbox gene (smile)
Alyssa is still sleeping in her crib. I haven't converted it to a toddler daybed because Earl is afraid she'll fall down the stairs in the middle of the night. (I think he's also afraid that she'll start getting up at the crack of dawn, something we've avoided to this point.) I'm not sure when I'll have him talked into coverting it. I'm temped to just put her in the full sized bed that's waiting for her. We'll have to see. Does anyone else out there still have their 2 1/2 year old in the crib?
That's all for now. I have to get back to laundry. I'm drowning in sheets and towels right now!
