Christy's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

April 15, 2004

Whew. Our first guests just checked out! It is so hard to believe that we're finally here and taking reservations. We still have a good bit of cleaning and finishing work to do at the guesthouse, but the other two cottages are done. We've started landscaping and the yard is looking much better.

So how do I feel? After a year of waiting, it is almost unreal. I feel numb. And still worried about money. We've taken three reservations so far - this one, one in late May, and one in early September. We need MORE. Lots and lots more.

These guests were very nice. 3 people, 2 cottages, 2 nights. They really seemed to like everything and complimented us a lot. They have also already recommended us to friends (who will hopefully book!)

Whew.

Easter went well. We colored eggs with Alyssa, she hunted plastic eggs in the yard, ate lots of chocolate. I made dinner - ham, homemade macaroni and cheese, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, rolls, and lemon cake. It was yummy. It's almost all gone now.

I have been feeling really horrible about myself lately. I eat non-stop, so it's no wonder I can't lose this weight LOL I feel like I just look awful and I avoid being in any pictures and actually hate even leaving the house. I'm a mess. I have to do something, but I'm just not "there" yet. I think a lot of it has to do with dealing with DH's depression on a daily basis. To cope, I eat. And as I gain weight, I get depressed. What a lovely cycle! So anyway - any words of recommendation are welcome. It makes me sad that Alyssa won't have any pictures with me because I refuse to get in front of the camera. :-(

Maybe I need to try out one of our whirlpools and steam showers?
