PEEP PEEP PEEP
I should know by now that I simply cannot go into a feed store when they have baby chicks. LOL I currently have 8 little peepers in a cage in my livingroom! It'll be another 4-5 weeks before they can go outside, so I'll be living with them for a while! They are the cutest thing (aren't they all?) and Alyssa LOVES them. "Chicken! Chicken!" I found an interesting breed this time, too - Blue Andalusians. They have silvery blue feathers and will lay white eggs. All of the others that I got I've had before and most will lay brown eggs. One will lay green or blue eggs. Only about 6 months until they begin laying LOL Our adult hens - all two of them - are currently giving us one egg every other day. One refuses to lay. Bad chicken.
VISITING...
My mom arrived on Tuesday and is staying through next week, then going down to Fresno to spend some time with my brother. I think we're planning to do some yard work tomorrow to see if we can start to whip this place into shape.
THE PEE PEE DOLL
Today while at Wal-Mart, we noticed that Fisher Price has put out a new Little Mommy Doll that is a potty training doll! It comes with a little potty that has a magnet in the seat. You feed the baby with the sippy cup or bottle, then put her on the potty, and she pees - loudly! LOL She will ONLY pee on the potty (which is good for my floors). Alyssa isn't quite sure what to think of the doll yet, but I'm hoping we see a little interest in the potty now. Only time will tell.
"BUH-FLY! BUH-FLY"
Is anyone else's child in love with butterflies? Alyssa points them out any time she sees one, will latch onto things in the store with butterflies on them, and frankly - she has a butterfly addiction. Dragonflies count as butterflies as well. Basically anything with wings. Grandma is enjoying indulging Alyssa's addiction and has purchased several butterfly themed items and Auntie Daria sent an box of goodies for Spring consisting entirely butterflies and or things with butterflies on them. Maybe Alyssa will be a bug scientist.
SENTENCES HERE WE COME
Alyssa's speach is rapidly improving. She's starting to use sentences now and it amazes me how she knows to put words together. I think the first one was "Where'd the gook go?" (Gook still means sippy cup, even though she knows the words milk, cup, sippy, water, juice - GOOK. LOL) She's growing up so fast, but I'm keeping her in that crib as long as I can!
COULD IT BE???
There is major progress on the cottages - the painter is almost finished. The tile guy started today. The carpenter guys have been putting in steps and finishing trim. The carpet is scheduled to be installed next Thursday. We had our preliminary kitchen inspection last week. We're setting up our credit card processing. Things are moving right along. I anticipate being open for the weekend of March 19. Possibly the week before, but... I'm not counting my chickens! LOL
Hopefully the next time I write, I'll once again be an innkeeper!! WHOOO HOOO!
