Hello! Alexandria and I had the most enjoyable and relaxing weekend! At 7:30 Saturday morning, Alli had her nose pressed up to the sliding glass door leading out to our deck, pleading, "Outside. Outside. Outside...." The weather was so nice that I just let her go outside. It's a convenient place for her to get her "run" out while I get things done inside, yet keeping one eye on her. She has her slide, bike, sidewalk chalk, and bubbles out there. Good for about 10-15 minutes of entertainment. We spent the day at the park, running errands, and my girlfriend came over with her 1-year-old. Because of the new visitors, Alli quickly proclaimed all her toys "MINE!"

Sunday was no different except I had planned on getting some house/homework done while Alli was visiting with the other parent unit. Wrong. I ended up taking a nap with her. There goes 2 hours. Lost an hour with the time change, and a couple more because of procrastinating. Ended up going to the park again in the afternoon. Alli helped me dig in the dirt while I was planting flowers in the yard. Next thing I knew, it was bedtime and I hadn't done a smidge of homework. Alli put up quite the battle at bedtime. Sometimes, she just cracks me up with her antics and it's hard not to laugh. Here it will be dark, and we've been lying down in bed for some time and she'll just bust out singing "Wheels on the Bus"... arm/hand movements and all. She even includes a few phrases of the baby crying, the mama sshhhing, etc. Or you'll think she's asleep and she'll all of a sudden turn her head towards you, smile and say Hi. What a little turkey!

Today is my birthday and I got the biggest hug from my little one this morning. Since she's still recovering from the time change, I had to wake her up so we could leave on time (I just hate doing that!). I just love the way she wakes up ... stretching without opening her eyes, then using her hands to search me out next to her, and when she doesn't find me there, her eyes pop open. And when she does find me, that smile of hers just melts me to pieces. She leaped up from bed and threw her arms around my neck, topped off my a big, wet kiss and a lick on the cheek. The licks are a new thing ... reminds me of a dog. LOL! I love it though. I hope that she continues to be an affectionate and loving person, unafraid to show her emotions (not enough people are these days!).

Alli has "chilled out" from all the vacations, etc. so the upheaval at daycare has smoothed out some. She is now in the toddler room in the afternoons and LOVES IT! You can tell that she is much happier doing "big kid" things, and the lively interaction of the other toddlers. You could tell that she was somewhat frustrated being in the wobbler room with all the babies. She would sometimes knock them down out of boredom/frustration of being the big kid on the block. The teachers would try to keep her entertained, but it was very clear that she needed to be out of wobblers. I feel strange picking her up with the toddlers. I really don't know the teachers yet, the way they really run things, yet, I practically have to bribe Alli to get her in the car to go home! I know that she is very happy there, and my gut tells me that this is a good thing.
