Chandra's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

December 29, 1999

We're off to CA (and back by the time you're reading this) tomorrow morning for a week-long vacation! I can't wait to relax. It's nice having my Mom, Dad and sister around, because it gives me a chance to sit down and catch my breath while they entertain Alexandria. The only thing I would like to accomplish on vacation is to take a nap and get a night out on the town as a single WOMAN, giving the MOM title a break for a short while. My best friends are excited to go out like old times and my Mom was gracious enough to offer to babysit Alexandria one night. Yippee! I know my mind will be on Alex though ... but I need this! :-)

Feeling rather reflective lately.... I've been thinking about my support group ... and the different people that are in it. Of course, there are my family and friends, and even a few co-workers, but I would be lost without a wonderful group of moms with toddlers born the same time as Alex (August 98). Most of us "met" during our pregnancies, or soon after, online. We email, chat or post on our online bulletin board daily. I've become rather good cyber-friends with a few moms. One of the most wonderful things about this group of women is the acceptance and support, whether it be advice, kind words or a laugh. We tend to talk to each other with our questions/concerns/joys about raising our children ... sometimes even before calling the doctor! I just think its interesting that we are turning towards the Internet -- as parents -- more often.

Hope you all had a safe and fantastic New Year's!!!
