Hello Everyone! My baby is 16 months old today *sniff* and has been visiting the toddler room at daycare. She's growing up so fast!
The Chomp a.k.a. Alexandria is still biting but not as much. Actually she's only gnawed on someone once at daycare since the Big Bruise incident. Could it be? Is the worst over? Don't tease me like that! Since we've figured that she is doing this for attention nine times out of 10, Alexandria's daycare is trying something different (knowing that this could backfire). In the past, when she bit someone, they would direct their attention to the injured child and take care of them. Alli, not to be ignored, would quickly turn to her next victim and take a chomp. So, to prevent at least another bite, they've included her in the 'doctoring' of the bitten child. Alli gets the ice and brings it to the child (as the poor kid probably starts cowering, whimpering, "no, no, keep her away from me!") and kisses the boo-boo. We'll see how this goes. Keeping my fingers crossed!
All done with school for the term! I'm very proud of myself for keeping my sanity this term ... barely, and I'm sure that some of my co-workers would beg to differ. In all honesty, I thought adding school and homework to my life would have me hanging from the rafters begging for mercy, but it wasn't too bad. I can do it for three more terms, just as long as Alex continues to have an early bedtime! On the workfront, well ... it's not the happiest place on earth. I told my boss last week that I was looking for another job and gave him my reasons why. He was supportive of my decision, yet he wasn't exactly thrilled either. I think half of the problems would be solved if we all went to Charm School and learned about R-E-S-P-E-C-T!
I had a great weekend with my daughter. She is so much fun! I wasn't worried about homework or anything else ... just enjoyed her laughter. I am fascinated with her. It's amazing how fast she learns. She is wildly in love with Elmo ("Melmo" to her). When she doesn't want her diaper changed, Melmo to the rescue! (Thank you, Drypers.) Doesn't want to get dressed after her bath, you say? Melmo pajamas save the night! (Thank you, Kmart.) Screaming in the car seat again? Well, whip out the Melmo musical toy! I don't know where this sudden interest comes from. She only watches TV on the weekends for about 30 minutes, usually Sesame Street or Bear in the Big Blue House. Melmo and bubbles also saved the day while getting her portraits taken this weekend. We've tried two times before to get pictures but she hollered her head off. I'm just thankful it's not Barney!
I hope everyone is enjoying the season and cherishing this time with your little ones!
