GREAT NEWS!!
By the time everyone has read this, I will have finished my last final of my collegiate career. Yep! This single momma just graduated from the university she was born and bred into (I've wanted to go to OSU since I was a little girl.). And it feels GOOOOOOOOOD to accomplish this after people were telling me I was crazy for taking on so much with work, school, Alli etc....that I should pace myself a little slower, that I should "ease" back into things. Yeah, right! If anything, I'm glad I jumped in with both feet, and I couldn't have done it without the support of my friends (especially my "invisible" online ones), my family and even my co-workers.
But the single, biggest reason I did all of this was because of Alexandria. If I didn't have her, I'd probably still be lolly-gagging around, partying too much, and wasting what was given to me. I thank God for her every single day.
My daughter has fallen in love. It's not with me, not with her dad, or any other family member for that matter. She's head over heels with that soft-spoken-man with the blue dog and talking household items. Yep, it's Steve in that green-striped shirt. *sigh*
The other morning, while at my mom's house during Thanksgiving vacation, Alli was watching Blue's Clues. She jumped up from the floor and sprawled herself on the TV screen...kissing and licking Steve's image..and making all these kissy noises and humming.
I asked her what she was doing and she said, in all seriousness,"I loooooove Steve, Momma".
"You do?"
"Yeah, Steve a boy. Alli favorite."
At this point, my mom pipes up with "You're not old enough to like boys yet, Alli."
Alli's reply?
"Grandmmmmaaaaaa, Alli gettin' older. Alli 2 now." I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. And the other day, when I said, "I love you Alli-boo." She replied with "I love you momma...and Steve!"
Alli loves to sing and shake her little booty. She will burst out into song at any given time: at bedtime (after she's been half-asleep for awhile), in the shopping cart at the store, walking through the leaves, in the car, in the bathtub. When she gets this urge in a public place, people walk by us, smiling and laughing....and that gets her going for more entertainment. She amazed me the other day by spouting off "Jack and Jill went up a hill..." The whole thing! Just like that....I don't know where she learned it. It was pretty darn cute though.
Hope everyone is happy and healthy,
Chandra
