I am now fully equipped for potty paradise. Alli has her variety of potty paraphernalia ... a large assortment of panties, Elmo potty chair (Go pee on Elmo, Alli!), potty books, leakproof training panties for outings or drives to her dad's house, and an economy-sized bottle of Resolve carpet cleaner for me. Bring it on, Potty Fairy!!
Diapers will be officially discarded as of the weekend (except for nighttime). I met with her teacher to discuss our "plan of action," and we're ready for anything ... I hope. Alli is all excited to be wearing panties like some of the other girls in her class at school, so I hope she (this may be the only time I say this) falls for peer pressure!
It seems that the reality of shuffling back and forth between our house, and Dad's house has made sense to Alexandria recently. This previous weekend, while I was packing her bag for her weekend with her dad, she came up to me and said, "I go to Daddy's house!?"
"Yep, Mommy will be back to get you the next day!"
"Mommy go bye-bye. Mommy be back!!!?"
"Yes, honey! Mommy be back on Sunday."
"Yay, Alli Daddy house! Mommy Alli!!!" She was jumping up and down, and I swear, I could see her making the connection in her mind about going back and forth. It makes me feel so much better knowing that she understands the concept, and is excited about going to her dad's place.
I took Columbus Day off because Alli's day care was closed, so we spent the night/day up at my mom's place. It was nice to spend the extra time with my daughter and mom.
Hope everyone is happy and healthy.
