Alli has discovered the wonderful world of Disney. She loves all the princesses, and the talking animal friends and how they live "happily ever, ever, ever after." She has started to carry on these antimated conversations with herself and/or her toys in the car, in the bath etc. She even throws in the different voices: raising her voice for girls, and doing her daddy voice for the boys. It's rather cute. My performer also breaks out in song and dance while shopping, the song depends on the particular movie de jour.
The other day while playing on the playgroud at school, the teacher was watching Alli strut across the grass while throwing her hair over her shoulders and looking around. The teacher asked what she was doing and Alli replied,"I am a princess. I am LOOKING for my prince!"
When we were visiting the library this morning, Alli soon discovered the echoes of the entry way...and was quickly in Disney mode, in character of Belle's father from Beauty and the Beast! The entry way must have reminded her of the father entering the Beast's castle for the first time because she was crouched down in her "boy" voice, "Hello? Is anybody home? I am looking for a place to stay!" She has already insisted that she needs a dress and hairdo like Belle for our wedding.
Every day, Alli will say something, or do something that makes me step back and laugh or be filled with the amazement of the way her mind works. Being with her is truly refreshing!
Hope everyone is happy and healthy!
~Chandra
