June 7, 2000
I finished finals today! I get a break this weekend and summer school starts right up on Monday. *sigh* I just keep reminding myself that this will all be over soon. Looking forward to a relaxing weekend of just doing whatever strikes my fancy. No homework, no driving anywhere, no urgent errands (yet), no desire to clean. just plenty of free time with my daughter.Alli put on her "dog and pony" show this weekend for an assortment of relatives. We visited my grandparents briefly, before her dad picked her up for the weekend, and she also saw her other grandma. As soon as we got to my grandparents' house, Alli whipped off her "new shoes" (she's very proud of them) and socks to stick her toes in Grandma's face. I had just painted her toes a light, light pink. I can't paint my nails in peace anymore. If Alli sees me doing it, she throws her feet in my face, proclaiming, "ink (pink) toes!" The amazing thing is that she sits very still while I paint her toes. I wish she'd sit that still when I'm trimming her bangs!
While visiting with my grandparents, Alli's dad showed up for Alli. He stayed for awhile because Alli was in performance mode. She was jumping and hopping around, running back and forth between the two of us, shaking her bottom "Alli dance! Alli dance!" That kid is hysterical! She then threw herself on the floor, "Alli puppy," for her dog imitation ... she barks and pants while crawling. And then she did her frog imitation: ribbiting and leaping along. What a goofball ... I love that about her!
I discovered a trait that Alli "inherited" from me. I have this "stupid human trick" I can do with my elbows because they're double-jointed. It does gross some people out though. I did it for Alli the other day, and she immediately copied me! No, it's not her mouth, or eyes or other features that I proudly boast, but the double-jointed elbows. Ah, my poor kid has a warped mother. LOL
Enjoy your days,
Chandra~+~Alexandria
