Here is a recent picture of Alli taken in April:
Hello! It's b*e*a*u*t*i*f*u*l here in Oregon lately. Spring is always gorgeous with all the rhododendrons and azaleas in full bloom on campus. While my parents were up on a visit this weekend, my dad took a walk through campus. My dad always raves about how pretty Oregon is, and how much he misses it (the majority of my family are OSU graduates), but he's been California-ized in a big way. The rain would drown him now! Sometimes, I wish I was living back in California, but I don't see that happening anytime soon in the future. Anyway...
Alli and I had a great weekend full of family. My parents were up for the weekend and spoiled us both. Loads of attention, toys and fun for Alli, furniture for me, and my mom cleaned the house. (THANK YOU, Mom!) It's nice to have someone else around once in awhile. I can escape to the bathroom in peace without Alli trying to share the toilet with me, shower alone etc. We had a big BBQ for Mother's day at my place. My grandparents and aunt/uncle/cousin clan drove down for the afternoon...full house! Alli put on her "dog and pony show" for everyone. She loves an audience! My dad took her for a "mellow out" walk around the neighborhood after everyone left. After they had been gone awhile, I looked out the window to see where they went. I found them in a neighbor's yard and Alli was happily washing all the garden rocks in their birdbath!
On Mother's Day, Alli and I spent all afternoon at the park. She was dirty, happy and exhausted when we came home that evening. We have "adopted" a puppy. My neighbor is a workaholic and is gone all day, doesn't get home until late at night, so I offered to walk her dog when we get home. It's a beagle and Alli LOVES her. Alli holds onto the leash with me, and the dog walks us both. It's a great thing...we can play with the dog anytime we want but without the cost, mess or fuss! Works for me! :-)
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
