Happy New Year!!! I have some wonderful news to share with everyone! On New Year's day, I got engaged! Or as Alexandria has been saying to everyone,"Alli, Mommy, Daddy get married!" Yes, Karl (her father) proposed to me and I've accepted. I haven't written about our relationship in this diary because I didn't know what the outcome would be. We have been off and on for awhile, so it's not a surprise to those who are close to us. He even got my father's blessing during the holidays and that meant a lot to me.
We are very, very happy about this and are planning an August 25th wedding! The plans are already in full swing and I'm finding myself being quickly swept up in it all. Alexandria will be a part of the ceremony, and we hope to give her a necklace during the exchanging of the rings ... to tie in the "family" factor. Is anyone familiar with that? I'd love any ideas about including children in a wedding! And entertaining them in the reception! She'll be 3 by that time. I'll write more later about the holidays with a 2-year-old tomorrow, but I wanted to share the news with everyone!!!
