Candace W.'s Diary EntriesDiary Navigation: |
December 26, 2002
Well, here we are. Alexandria is now 3 years old. She is also a big sister. Her little sister, Victoria Lynn, was born on December 13th, at 12:16 a.m. She was 8 lbs, 7 ounces and was 21 inches long.
Alexandria is coping well with big sisterhood. She still hasn't held Victoria, but I think we're all okay with that.
She's really become Daddy's little girl, which makes me sad. I really don't get the time of day from her any more. In fact, if for some reason Al leaves to go somewhere without her, she cries and screams until he returns. He gives her all the baths now, and she won’t even let me wipe her face. I’m also not “allowed” to pick out her clothes. I suppose it’s understandable because I haven’t been home, and I’ve been busy with Victoria, but it still hurts nonetheless.
Alexandria had her 3-year check-up in late November. She was 32 lbs, and 37 inches tall. She’s getting to be a really big girl! Also, Al has taught her spell and read words. We feel it won’t be long before she’s reading! She knows mom, dad, cat, dog, cow, egg, eggs, fan, go, jump, run, kite, love, moon, pig, toe, you, me, my, I, ball, balloon, book, and a few more that my brain can’t think of at the moment. We’re so proud of her.
Of course, she’s still a little bit of a trial at times. I know they promised me at the pediatrician’s last year that things would settle down when she turned 3, but it’s a lie! They said (when Al took her this last time) that things would settle down when she was 4. Hmmph. Someone is full of it! I’m sure next year, they’ll tell me things will be better when she’s 5. LOL
We are going to have a little family party for Alexandria later tonight, after they get back from the store. Al bought her a cake, and I’m sure we’ll have a good time. She really enjoys her little bowling game that talks (it actually “taunts” you, according to the box) and she’s played with that a lot. So, at least one toy is a winner. LOL
And, now…that’s all I have to say. I’m going to close this diary. It’s been a fun three years, but I’ll open up my spot for someone else. I wish everyone the best of luck with their little (or big!) ones.
Hugs,
Candace, Albert, Alexandria, and Victoria
