I can't believe it. School starts tomorrow for me! Alexandria will be going to day care for the first time tomorrow, also. I am worried about how she will do, but not that much. I think for what little time she is going to be in there (two hours tomorrow) and her age, she should enjoy it. At least, this is what I am hoping.
Alexandria got her first cold on Friday, and it was so sad. She was all grumpy when she got up at 6 a.m. (unusual for her!) and there was snot running out of her nose. She didn't get a fever, and she had very little chest congestion. I am so happy that it wasn't anything too serious. She played and acted largely like she wasn't sick at all. So, that was great. I was sick also, and I was a lot worse off than she was. I felt so miserable on Thursday, because when I went to bed Wednesday night, I could hardly breathe. I was just producing a lot of saliva and it was tickling my throat, I was constantly swallowing, I was miserable. I think I got something like three hours total of sleep. Then a friend of mine dropped by to visit, and that didn't help. I didn't really want anyone to see me like that, you know?
Alexandria is just picking up so many signs, it's amazing. Tonight for the first time, when she was watching her daddy brush his teeth, she was making the sign for that. OK, so it looks a lot like eat, but it's all in the context. If I weren't signing with her, I would be so worried about whether or not she understands speech and things. She is so clever, though! I have taught her to bring me the pillow that I use every time she wants to nurse, and now she won't even allow me to get the pillow myself, she *must* be the one to bring it to me. I just love this child so much. I tried to explain to Al earlier today that before we had Alexandria it just seemed kind of dumb to be married, but it came out all wrong (just like up there!) and I think he was hurt. I guess what I meant to say was that now that we have her, I feel so fulfilled, and it's like she's always been a part of us, and now we're a real family. He didn't understand, though. It must be a woman thing.
Well, I must get some things ready for class tomorrow. It should be really fun. I am actually looking forward to getting some mental stimulation. I hope my brain doesn't fry from overload! Ha, ha!
