Hello everyone! I hope everyone's been having a good time getting ready for the holidays. I can't wait! The holidays are my favorite time of year. Well, its my most stressful time, but its still a happy one! :-) I have to work Thanksgiving this year, but hopefully it's going to be my last holiday working!! I GOT THE JOB! I am now the newest Office Assistant with a nearby Sheriff's agency, and I am SO excited! I'll be working Monday through Friday, 8-4:30. It's a dream job from what I've been used to for the past 2 years. My first day will be December 4th, which will be orientation. Hopefully this new career will bring normality to our little family. Hopefully Makayla will be happier, and I know without a doubt that I will be. I was SO excited when the agency contacted me, I was getting my tire changed and I started jumping up and down! haha God is GOOD!
I still want to pursue a degree, but it really does seem hopeless. Are there any other single mothers out there that have this same feeling? It's so frustrating, especially being 20 years old. I see my friends that are in college full time, and then me... trying to get any little credit that I can. BUT - I have something so much better. I have a piece of my heart walking around outside of me, and amazing me more and more everyday. I love her so much, and even though I can't be in school full time like normal, I couldn't imagine my life without her in it.
Makayla is initiating more and more conversation these days, and its so fun. Even if she can't keep up with a conversation, she tries very hard! She mumbles the sentence and then pronounces the last word so clear. Its adorable! :-) She is learning more songs as well. There's this one that I have on a CD that goes "Na na na na" in a part, and she waves her hands and sings along. Her favorite new song is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. This is her version of the lyrics... "Teeee Teeee Tar!" She sings at the top of her lungs when we're riding down the road too. She makes me laugh so much!!
My divorce seems to be at a stand still right now. We're not going anywhere with the papers. I've been waiting on Russell's lawyer, it seems like FOREVER. In January we will be seperated a year. We are still very civil though, and I think we have a good relationship. Hopefully things will stay like that!
Next week Makayla and I are going to get her Christmas pictures taken. I can't wait to see how they turn out! Then, two days after Christmas, my baby girl turns TWO YEARS OLD!!! She's growing up so fast. It's amazing!
Well, its about time for me to go, but I hope everyone has a GREAT Thanksgiving! Be thankful for everything... everything we have is a gift from God. ESPECIALLY our children!
~Becky~
