Becky's Diary EntriesDiary Navigation: |
November 6, 2002
Hey everyone! I know its been a while since my last entry... I feel like a Toddler's Today slacker!! :-) This week has been pretty busy. Makayla got a little bit of a cold at first, but after a few days was fine. Then, my dad started in getting sick while she was finishing up her cold. Well, soon I started to get a frog in my voice. It turned into full blown laryngitis! I missed two days of work (I'm not complaining) and couldn't talk at all! Its hard to discipline a two year old when she can't hear you. haha She would be climbing on something she shouldn't be, and I would be saying "noooo!" But I guess a whisper isn't very convincing.
I also got my hair cut. Since I was in high school, I've wanted my hair cut short. Never before have I had the nerve. Well, yesterday I did it. It's VERY short, and I love it. Its pretty cute. I'm still getting used to it, of course, but I like it. I'm getting positive responses from everyone I know too, so that's a good sign. Everyone says I look older... which when you're always told you look younger than your age, its a good thing. (Atleast while I'm young. I'm sure when I get a little older I'll want my "youngness" back!!)
Makayla cracks me up. Everything she does is so amazing and funny, and she's learning so fast! My mom reads this book to her, called "Pig Gets Stuck." Well, on every page, there's a little duck that is hiding somewhere. My mom and her made a little game into finding the duck, and every time a page is turned, Makayla screams "PEEK-BOO!!!" It's so adorable. She has two more books like that coming for Christmas, and I'm sure she'll be thrilled. Speaking of Christmas, I think Makayla is going to love her presents. I don't know of everything she's getting, but her big present from me is one of those kitchen sets - with a sink, counter, stove, telephone, etc. She absolutely loves to play tea party (which she calls "ah-tea") and she loves to pretend to cook. She helps my mom and I in the kitchen so much. Even if it's just standing on a stool and playing in the bubbles at the sink. Everything is such a great experience.
Makayla is also VERY into music. She loves to sing and dance. Her favorite CD is a Bear in the Big Blue House CD. Track #5 is "Happy Birthday" and she calls the entire CD "HAPPY!" She loves it. Even if there's a song on the radio that she doesn't know, she'll sing along and pretend to know the words. I think she'll be very musically inclined. She also loves to climb and flip. As soon as she is old enough, I'm going to enroll her into gymnastics. (If she wants to, of course.) She loves to bend over, and then I'll flip her legs over to do a somersault. I was never as active as she is and its great to see her doing that.
Well, I guess I will close up this entry. I apologize if it is kind of stretched out, but I want to try and remember so many of my favorite stories of Makayla. I love being a mom through the good times and the bad, and I just cannot wait until Makayla is old enough for me to share this diary with her. I love you so much Baby Girl!!! :-)
God Bless Everyone!!!
