Ok guys, I'm in a much better mood than I was the last entry! lol Makayla got out of her FUNK and is back to her normal, adorable, sweet self. I talked to her on the phone this morning from work (she's at her grandma's house) and she kept saying "what are you doing mama?" OVER AND OVER! I kept telling her "I'm working, what are YOU doing Makayla?" But that wasn't good enough. She just kept on "What are you doing mama?" I got to laughing so hard at her. People walking by were like "hmmm ok!" =) Makayla must have realized that the people in the office didn't think I was quite weird enough, so she said "Star Mama!" Which translated means "sing twinkle twinkle little star." SOOOO, I did. LOL Right in the middle of the office. Once we sing one song together, we have to have a full concert, so that's exactly what I gave my co-workers.... consisting of twinkle twinkle little star, baby bumble bee, the marching song, Jesus loves me and finally concluding with the wheels on the bus. We were being begged for an encore, but I just had to get back to work! LOL =)
I have signed up to take 2 classes this summer, but I'm nervous that it's going to take too much time away from my baby girl. Russell is all for it b/c being that I got pregnant at such an early age, he feels like my "college years and education" were taken away from me. Which, they were, BUT I got such a reward instead that I wouldn't change for anything. I am still going to try my hardest for a degree though. I'm going for a Bachelor of Social Work. Yes, this will take a long time considering I only have 7 credit hours so far... GEEEEZZZ! Again though, I'm worried about my relationship with Makayla being messed up somehow. I want to be there for her but I want to further my education too. Does anyone have any tips for doing this - studying and working AND being a mom?!?! I know I can do it and I know it's been done a lot, but if you can give me any advice about making it EASIER, I'd appreciate it!
Wednesday the 23rd was Secretary's Day and for the first time ever, I have been a secretary on that day! lol I walked in, and a bouquet of flowers were on my desk with a great card from the people in my department, and then I got a cute candle and card from my Captain!!! I felt so loved! lol (I know it's only one day out of the year but STILL....) In all seriousness though, I am so appreciated at this job. I was a dispatcher for almost 2 years and you're lucky if you get a smile throughout an 8 hour shift at that place! It was a terrible work environment. I loved the JOB itself, but not the people. (Don't get me wrong, there were my choice few that I got along w/ but when you're cooped in a small room w/ no windows w/ the same people night after NIGHT, you get a little cranky.) ANYWAYS, I'm rambling but my point to this paragraph is that the people I work with are WONDERFUL and it's such a pleasant work environment. I really am lucky. I still wish I was lucky enough to be a SAHM, but you can't have everything... *sigh*
Well guys, I'm off to do somemore work before the WEEKEND! WOOHOO!!!!! I'm so excited! I hope everyone has a great weekend planned. Hug your little ones and never take a moment for granted! Love ya!
God Bless,
Becky and Makayla
