Becky's Diary EntriesDiary Navigation: |
February 21, 2003
Well, 2003 is not new anymore, Valentine's day has passed, snow is finally melting.... SO COME ON SPRING!!! Is anyone else ready for warm weather?! I'm SO sick of wearing a coat and cutting the heat on in my car it's not funny! Makayla love snow, however... "its no-ing!!!!!" lol
TGIF - that's all I have to say about this week! I am still loving my job, however I love weekends even more. Makayla is at her Daddy's house until tomorrow, so I'm going to my friend, Ryan's house and he's cooking me my favorite dinner! I can't wait. We're going to watch My Big Fat Greek Wedding afterwards. HILARIOUS movie! I still cannot wait until Makayla comes home. We bond all the time now - we play together great. It's like I'm really getting used to her strong-willingness. I'm learning how to adapt. My mom is still bugging me to read "The Strong Willed Child" by Dr. James Dobson, and I need to - I just feel like I have no time! I really need to make it a priority though!
Makayla is finally not putting her fingers in her mouth anymore, so I painted her fingernails. Hot pink. Oh boy, was she excited! She was running around the house showing everyone her "pretty fingers!!!" Now, everytime she hardly gets a chip on it, she comes to me and says "Mama, paint fingers!" Like mother, like daughter! ;)
How is everyone else's potty training going? Makayla peepee's in the potty every morning when she gets up, and every time she wakes up from a nap. Those are usually always potty times. The rest are just throughout the day, but I have to ask her all the time "do you have to peepee?" My mom is a HUGE help with the potty training, and so is her babysitter. I think for her age she's doing pretty good. She'll every once in a while say "poopoo" or "potty" when she needs to go, but that's not very often. My dad bought her "big girl pants" (pull-ups) but I still think she's too young. They're so expensive if she's still wetting on a regular basis! She feels so grown up though when she wears them. She goes "I'm BIG!" :) My little darling is growing up!!!! What am I going to do?
Well I'll leave you with a quote that touched me when I read it. "Lord, it's an awesome job, this parenting thing. Give me the grace, goodness, and determination I need to do the best possible job, no matter how tired or frustrated I get. It's up to You and me, Lord. Be with me every step of the way." ~Patricia Lorenz~ That really meant a lot to me when I read it, being a single parent. I hope it touched someone else! I hope you all have a great end of February! Tootles!
