Anne's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

November 19, 2003

11-19-03. Owen is 7 weeks old now (and 2 days). We weighed him again on his food scale Monday night and he weighed 12 3/4 pounds. I looked up G's statistics and found that he is bigger than G was at his age. He's pretty chunky - and cute. He does well with the formula and milk. G used to get horrible gas until we decided on switching his formula. I hope we've been able to avert that in Owen. So far so good.

He has been smiling much more now. It is so nice to see him smile. He likes for us to sing songs and loves kisses on his neck.

His sleeping has gotten worse with a little runny nose he developed. He woke up almost every hour last night. I'm tired.

We did put hi basinet away and put the crib in our room. I think he prefers the sleep where he isn't touching anything unless he's in bed snuggled with us. It seems in the basinet, if he touched something he would wake up. Although, as I said about his sleeping has not improved. The one thing the crib has done has made it easier for him to fall asleep in between naps or wake-ups.

His eyes are still looking blue. They are grey but I don't see any signs of brown. I thought G started getting brown at 8 weeks but I can't remember. I need to see if I wrote it in his diary.

Next week will be 8 weeks which means my maternity leave ends. I'm taking 3 additional days off so I won't start until the 2nd of December. I've already accrued about 40 hours of comp time, but I'll take them later, when I need it, like doc's appt etc.

We are driving to Virginia next week for the holidays to see my sister. Also, to visit the outlet malls like Leesburg and Potomac Mills. I can't wait. We are stopping half way iin West virginia so that we aren't pushing it with the kids. We picked a place with a pool so we can have a nice relaxing journey.

We are also going to Florida for Christmas again and that's a really long drive at 15 hours. So, I think we'll probably stop then too. We did it last year and it was way too long.
