October 15, 2002
10-15-02. Yesterday, DH drove to work and the doors were locked. We work on a military installation (Ft. Knox) and it was a Federal Holiday and they army guys who usually open the doors to our building never came to unlock the doors. DH came home and I planned my day. I called the daycare and informed them that G would not be in. I planned the day. DH decided he was going to stay home and work - party pooper! So, I called my SIL and planned to meet at the children's museum in Louisville. We met there and she had a pass for me. Then we ate lunch at the attached cafe. Then she left and I walked a 1/2 block to the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory. G and I watched a movie then walked through the factory and the museum and they gave us each a mini-bat. He loved that. Then we went to visit my mom. He fell asleep in the car so I ran in and picked up something and headed to Toys R Us. They had some stuff on sale from the Sunday paper. We had a good time in there until the line was backed up 15 feet and they had one checker. I decided they didn't NEED my business and left my cart. Everyone else was getting pretty upset around us too. So, I didn't buy anything there.
When we got home we headed to a friend's house for her birthday dinner. Us and another family was invited. All the kids played and we all got to sit around the table and talk. It was nice.
We all still have our colds. Every morning I've got to wipe G's eyes with a warm cloth to get the goo out. Poor guy. He woke up again last night in the middle of the night. He was with us for about an hour. I was so tired because I had taken a cold/sinus pill. After the second time when he'd had his feet in my face I grabbed him and put him in bed. He barely made any fuss.
Everything is going fine here. We are on month number 5, day 5. I'm not stressed about it because we aren't trying as much as we aren't avoiding it. I'm trying the Shettle Method to have a girl and it's a lot harder than you'd think - obviously. I read on this website that in order to have a girl, you need to BD prior to ovulation. You do this because the girl sperms last longer. If there's no egg the boy ones who are faster get up the tube and then die because nothing is there to fertilize. Meanwhile the girl sperms are sauntering their way up there and by the time they arrive - viola - the egg is there for them. Has this worked for anyone?
It seems we thought we got the timing right last month and I was 3 days late which initially made me think I was PG but every test I took said negative. Finally, AF came and I guess that means I Oed late - which I've never done!!! So, I was completely thrown off this month. But, I'm back on track.
Later,
Anne
