Last week was vacation week for all. Dh took G out to Texas for a visit with his parents while I went with my sisters/relatives/friends - all women on a cruise to the carribean.
I missed G so much. But, I know he and daddy had a good time visiting his family. G got to ride horses and hopefully I'll get some pictures from grandma. When I went to pick them up at the airport, G ran down the hallway in his new black cowboy boots and cowboy hat. He looked so adorable. Everyone turned to see this little cowboy running to his mommy. He was so handsome and looked so grown up, I couldn't believe he was mine. He was happy to see me and you could tell. I had heard that sometimes kids get angry and won't talk to you for leaving them. But, he was as happy to see me as I was to see him. He learned a few new words and got two more teeth last week. He has 14 teeth now. He now says "your welcome" and "happy." Daddy bought him some new DVDs and played them on the laptop on the plane. It's nice to know that daddy now knows who Bob the Builder is. He knows the songs now too. I don't feel so stupid ;) He also got a muppets DVD and Monsters, Inc. Cute movie! Anyway, G was watching the movies on the plane with an earbud. He has seen me use my earbud for my phone while in the car. He adapted pretty well I guess. I would've thought that he'd try to take it out. My baby is now exposed to modern technology. It's amazing.
My vacation was great too. We went to the Cayman Islands, Belize, Honduras and were supposed to go to Cozumel. The cruise line canceled Cozumel due to the hurricane Isadora and we went to Key West instead. That was fine since I had already been to Cozumel and not to Key West. I got plenty of sun and food and more food. But, I like NCL because they also have a fitness program on board. I exercised everyday and took different classes - aerobics, walking around the deck, stretching, abs classes etc. It was great and I felt good about eating and enjoying my trip and not too guilty.
While we were gone, two people submitted resignations at work. One up and quit Friday because he was to start today and the other's last day is thursday. I don't mind if people quit for a better job but to quit without a two weeks notice sucks and is inconsiderate. Also, in the next two weeks, a few more people plan on quitting. That's the rumor. So, things are rough around here. I wish I could find a new job. No word on DH's job. It will be a while before we know anything.
I have a board meeting tonight with my neighborhood. I don't want to go anymore. I'm the president of the board and I've realized since being the president that it is so ridiculous. People bring up the most stupid stuff that should have been taken to the general manager. It's a waste of time. I really don't feel like we get anything done. I have one more year to go on the board then I think I'm not going to run again.
TTFN,
Anne and G
