Well, hopefully no one from work reads this or I could get us into trouble. And if anyone from work does read this please come to me first before you rat us out. My husband was called to Virginia last week by another company, Company X. He has submitted a resume to "X" for a new job. This job is completely different than what he's doing now so there's no conflict of interest. But, the job that he's been selected for has not been won yet. His hiring is contingent on "X" winning the contract. He went up last week to help a team write a proposal to win the bid for the project. We couldn't tell work here because if they found out that he might leave then that would not be good. Anyway, the job would still be located in Kentucky and it's a 1 year contract with 4 one year renewables - basically a 5 year contract. He will go from managing 20-30 people to 300 people and will be answering directly to the vp of operations who is directly below the president of the company. He presently answers to a line of 5-6 people which really means he has a false sense of responsibility. With the new job he will make all the decisions within the budget and doesn't have to kiss anyone's *ss anymore to get anything done. This would be so good for him. We are very excited and keeping our fingers crossed. Company "X" seems very intuned with the employees and that is nice to see. So, I went on priceline.com and got a super price on a ticket and met him up there on Friday with G. My sister lives there so I stayed there while he went to work. We went outlet shopping and I saw my cousins. Ron got done on Saturday afternoon and we left on Sunday on the same flight. It was a really nice, unexpected weekend. So, as far as DH's new job, we are hoping to know as early as October, but it could be as late at January or February. And, technically it's not supposed to start until next June. We are hoping they will start the project sooner - talk about a morale booster. I'll probably stay here at the present company because it's harder to find a job for me. Right now we are focusing on DH. We are keeping our fingers crossed.
On this coming Saturday, Dh and I are both taking a week's vacation but we are going to different places. Normally, we wouldn't do this but theres a good reason. I am going with my sisters and SILs and mom and friend on a cruise in the caribbean. There are 8 women going and no kids. DH is taking G and leaving Saturday as well and going to visit his parents in Texas. G is going to have a great time. He loves his grandparents and they have horses. He loves horses and although afraid now, I think he'll come back a cowboy. I've planned for G to be a cowboy for halloween so DH is going to see if he can get a good deal on some boots and a hat while out there. I'm sure we'll have a good time despite being separated. We both come back next Saturday as well.
Things about G...has has 12 teeth but his two bottom pointy teeth are coming in. He hasn't eaten well lately so I'm hoping that's why. We think he went through a growth spurt lately because he has been eating like a pig for the last month. He ate everything in sight. He has been healthy with the exception of all of us having allergies and runny noses. That Ragweed!
G seems to becoming more independent. He loves to do things and can keep himself entertained by looking at books, watching a video, playing with cars. He loves to pretend already. He'll say 'beep beep' when playing with cars and makes plane and train sounds. He's such a boy! He loves to play rough too with his daddy. He loves his riding toys, slides, and swings (which he calls "wee" and his sand box. He loves the sprinkler and anything that has to do with being outside. He's becoming very communicative. He'll wake up in the morning at tell us it's time to eat "eat eat" and go to his highchair. He's starting to tell me when he has a poopy diaper but doesn't like the baby wipes that leave his bottom cold and wet. He still loves his goochy and cuddling. He's great in the car. He loves his crib so I don't see an end to that anytime soon. He's just great. I love being his mom. Gotta go! NO time to proofread.
