Anne's Diary Entries

January 29, 2003

YES he is! I took HPTs on Monday and Tuesday and both were positive. It sounds so strange to say I'm pregnant - all of 4 weeks. I'm 4 weeks behind my SIL. How fun both of our kids will be the same age. Anyway, thank God for those bonus two weeks you get. Only 8 more months to go. I had syptoms a week earlier. I got implantation cramps which I feel like I do every month. Then my BBs got really sore almost immediately. I hadn't remembered them being sore in the last few months and was pretty sure I was Pg. But, you know there's always that doubt. Then Sunday night I had back cramps. I was just kind of achy in my lower back, both sides. I asked DH to rub some lotion into them and thought these must be precursors to AF. I figured I'd temp (hadn't all month but know if I go under 98 degrees to expect AF) on Monday morning then test if I was above 98. Well, I was still asleep and forgot to temp. I went to the bathroom and peed in the dixie cup and tested anyway. Of course, I stared at it waiting for it to magically appear before my eyes - immediately. We all know a watched pot never boils. Then I took it to bed with me and layed it next to the pillow. Nothing. I put it on the night stand, took my temp - 98.1 and fell back to sleep. Dh woke me up a few minutes later and said it's time to get up. I took the test into the bathroom to toss it and looked one last time - AND THERE IT WAS THE SECOND LINE! I showed Ron and he said "Yep, it's there!" I tested again on Tuesday, same result +++++++

The realization is still like being numb at the dentist. It's funny, my family is more excited than I am. I am excited but it still seems like a dream. And actually, I feel great. I remember with G I got an upset stomach the day before I found out and had it for several months. Nothing yet, but then again, I'm only 4 weeks and 1 day along. I'm holding on to the thought that different symptoms mean different gender. I'd really like to have a girl. Then if I have another...another boy would be great. I love having G and a boy.

Yesterday I was sitting on the couch and I told G there was a baby in my tummy. I grabbed my shirt to lift it up and say "I wanna see" (more like "uhnsee"). Then he poked his finger in my belly button and then tried to look in there to see it. I thought that was pretty cute.

Back to G...His 2nd birthday was a BIG hit. It was planned a week early and we had a party at the bowling alley with my family. Amazingly, on short notice, my entire family was able to come. There were only 30 there! Then on G's real birthday, the 18th, we drove up to Louisville and had dinner with G's sisters at the California Pizza Kitchen. It was REALLY cold that day. It was a nice day for him. My baby turned into my little boy. But, he did something awfully cute last night. After I told him where the baby was (in my tummy) a while later I asked him "where is the baby?" He thought I was talking about him and he leaned over and gave me a kiss. I guess he still is my baby.

G got a few presents. He got two movies, Wizard of Oz (which he loves and picked out at Target) and Bear in the Big Blue House. Ron got him a doctor's crash cart from the Discovery store. He got some clothes and some toys. I told everyone "NO GIFTS" but he did get a few anyway.

This weekend I am going to Utah with my sister for a few days of sister fun. We are going skiing on Sunday then shopping on Monday, leave on Tuesday.
