Well, we are preparing for G's party this weekend. I sent invitations to G's school/daycare and not 1 person has called to say their child will come. Why is that. Ugh! I don't care about the gifts, but I think G would like his friends to attend. He sees these kids on a daily basis. They are his "best friends." Strange.
G is doing well. I hope that he realizes he's already 3, not turning 4. He was very upset when we visited the local sporting goods store and they denied him being able to climb the rockwall until he's 5. He kept saying he wanted to be 5 and still brings it up. He has no fear.
Owen is still doing better with his cold. We are trying some new things now to try to get him to sleep through the night. He'll be 4 months tomorrow. We've tried cereal and peas but he acts so hungry through the night and will drink an entire 8 ounce bottle at 12:30 and wake up again a few hours later like he's starving.
So, my birthday is coming up and Ron has planned something, just not sure what yet. It's on Valentines day. Oh my! All I've been able to figure out is that it is overnight and I believe his daughters are babysitting. Ron will be 50 in March. He sounds so old - but he's far from it. I'm thinking of taking him to Chicago for the night and surprise him. We could get roundtrip tickets for $78 each and have a place to stay and I was looking at Chicago Bears tickets or a play. If anyone has Bears tickets for Mar 13th, I might be interested in buying them. I had no idea how expensive they were.
My ski trip was great. I left Tuesday and got there around 6pm their time. My gf had gotten there the day before and was meeting a friend (male) from work. She went to a Denver Nuggets game with him. She came to the airport, gave me the car and the keys and jumped in his car to go to the game. I drove to the hotel where my sisters (2 of them) and 2 of their friends were waiting. We ate Mexican and totally pigged out. Wednesday, S (my gf) and her friend, R, went downhill skiing. S had only skied once, 20 years ago. So, I borrowed my sister's snowblades (really short easy skiis - real fun) and skied on the bunny slopes most of the day. I did go down with R on the blue runs a few times. R and I talked S down, who begged for us to let her get back down on the gondola or begged for the ski guides to take her on the snowmobile. I wasn't going to let her embarrass her self by doing that. At the end she was proud of herself. We then went to the hottub and drank two bottles of wine (3 of us). That night S, R and I went to an italian place for dinner. My sister MJ and her two friends had left earlier that morning. K's husband, M, came in Wednesday afternoon and they took a sleigh ride dinner thing and they said it wasn't worth it. So, I'm glad we didn't pay $100 for a crappy meal that night. In fact, R payed for our meals. Then we thought about going to the bars. I wasn't really interested. I am so not a bar person anymore. It was the sundance film festival so there were lots of people there. In town, I saw McCauley Culkin, Valerie Bertinelli, Mandy Moore and probably more that I didn't know the name of.
So, I ditched S and R. They stayed out until 2am. They called me to let them in at 2 am. So much for getting rest. Thursday, R left and S, K, M and I went snowmobiling - that was so much fun!!! We did a 4 hour tour and got to go really fast and climb hills. K, went to climb a hill and her machine wasn't going fast enough. It started to turn over on her half way up and she had to kick it off. She lost her helmet but was OK. She was laughing hysterically when she made it back down. She tried it again, a bit faster and made it. It was fun. Plus, since she didn't get hurt, we could laugh about it. Thursday night, we went to another Italian place for dinner. S was whipped and stayed back at the condo and slept.
Friday, K used S's ski pass and skied. I had the shuttle drop me off at the x-country path and I skied for almost 2 hours, and fell twice. Oh my gosh, it was fun but hard. I'd get really scared when the path went down hill and my skis stuck in the grooves. It was especially scary when the path turned at the bottom. It's hard to turn with skis on while in a groove that doesn't have the same turning radius as the ski. That's when I fell. But, it was great exercise! S and M got dropped off at town and shopped. K and I met around 1 and did the hottub then picked up S and M and went to the outlet mall. I bought a few things at Children's place and Liz Claiborne store...then we went back to the condo. We went to dinner at the expensive place (we had $100 gift certificate because they screwed up my sister's reservation) and it was good. S insisted on picking up the rest of the tab and I left the tip since the gift certificate was my sister's. Oh, she had also gotten a $100 gift certificate to the spa. She gave her husband a manicure and gave the rest to me. I had a massage on Thursday morning. It was nice.
Saturday, we all got up early and went to the airport. I was on SW, they were all on Delta. I flew to Vegas then hopped on another flight to Lousivlle. Some guy got sick on the flight (I thought he had a heart attack). The stewardesses attended to him and asked for a doctor and nurse. They had headphones on and were probably talking to a ground doctor. He had 2 attacks of whatever it was. By the end, it probably wasn't as bad as we initially thought since we never landed enroute or got to Louisville early. I heard his wife in the terminal say she was scared to death. But, they took him by ambulance I think. Exciting trip. Ron was glad to see me and so were G and Owen. I got G a dinosaur from the toy store and as soon as he saw me, he ran up and grabbed the dinosaur and said "give me that" and ran back to daddy. I had to get him to give me a hug after that. He was so engrosed in the dino. Next time I'll get my lovin' then give him the toy. He has been dry for 48 hours. Ron ran out of pull-ups and didn't bother buying anymore. So, he's had him in undies all weekend. So far so good. He even pooped in the potty at the airport. We then went to the Outback for dinner. I was starving and went home and relaxed. I haven't even unpacked yet.
That was my trip - details and all.
That's about it.
