Anne's Diary Entries

New Intro. My boys G (1-18-01) and Owen (9-30-03) - vas reversals work.

1-28-04

I'm writing a new intro since I have two kids now. I don't know how this will work. I'm hoping to be moved to Preschoolers Today in celebration of G's 3rd birthday. Either way, I will be chronicalizing both G and Owen's life. I just like the thought of moving along the line of the diaries, rather than move to Mom's today.

I started on the Precon diary in the early months of 2000. I had gotten married in June of 99. My husband has 3 kids by a previous marriage and had a vasectomy for 13 years. He met me and decided he'd get it reversed. And that was two weeks after our first "official date." See, we actually met in 1998 because he hired me. We just like to boil it all down to kismet. We were meant to meet and be together. I, Anne, am now 35 (soon to be 36), and Ron will be

We had the reversal 3 months prior to our marriage and hoped it would work. We opted to wait until the beginning of 2000 to try having our own family. We didn't want to throw too many things at his kids at once. We were lucky to conceive in April of 2000, our 4th month of trying. What luck!!!

Garner Dalton was born January 18th, 2001. He was 8lbs 15 ounces and 3 days late. We conceived again in January of 2003 and had Owen Thomas on September 30, 2003. Both were by c-section. With G, I was in labor from 3am til 11:55pm. I had only gotten to 8 cm and it just wasn't going to happen naturally. With Owen, I wanted to try VBAC but changed my mind late into the pregnancy. I'm glad I did because he was a week early and weighed 8 1/2 lbs.
I would've had the same problem as I did with G if I had gone into labor. So much for small babies. Owen is healthy too so we are blessed. I plan to try again (hoping for a girl) sometime later in the year. If we do have another boy, I told my husband, that I want to adopt a girl. We would probably go with an international adoption.

I have 3 step children: Nikki (22), Kiim (21) and Tyler (19). The two girls are at UofL and Ty is leaving for Iraq soon. He has followed in his father's footsteps and joined the Army. Ron was an officer in the Army for 22 years. Ty was in the national guard and got called up. We are very proud of him.

We live outside Louisville, Kentucky and also have saved two dogs, Vina (1 eyed stray dog) and Teton (humane society).
