"Hello Everybodeeeee" as Grover would say! Life in our house has been quite busy lately! DH went on a business trip this week so I got to play mommy and daddy! And of course, both kids decided that since daddy is gone, now is a good time to get sick! Ashlyn has an ear infection and is on Septra. This is her second ear infection. She was just rechecked for her last one two weeks ago and given a clean bill of health. Then, last Wednesday, we went for her 9 month checkup (she weighs 17 pounds, 10 ounces; she's 27 inches long and has a 17 inch head) and lo and behold, she has another one! Anyone have any ideas for prevention? Afton has not gone one month without an ear infection since he was 6 months old and I don't want his sister to follow in his footsteps!I think Afton has an ear infection also. =( We have a 9:20 a.m. appointment tomorrow (Thursday) so we will find out. The day of Ashlyn's 9 month checkup, Afton had a recheck for an ear infection he had. The doctor said he still saw some fluid in his ear, but it looked much better so he didn't prescribe anything. But he said if he starts to get sick to bring him in. Then on Tuesday he woke up from a four hour nap with a 104 degree temp! I immediately stripped him down and we took a bath together. Poor baby! But after the bath and Tylenol, the temp came down and stayed down. Now he is just being super fussy boy- which I wanted to attribute to the fact that dad was gone, but he does have a runny nose so I'm taking him in tomorrow.
Other than that, things have been relatively quiet. I want to get Afton into swim lessons because he loves the pool! I just don't know where to go to enroll him. My community center's classes are full for the summer. So, any suggestions?
We put closet organizers in the kids' rooms last weekend . Their rooms are so small that if we put a bed (crib) and dresser in the room, they just basically have a walkway in and no place to play! So we went to Home Depot and got some wire baskets, shelves and frames and built our own! I am very proud of them! Afton even helped! He kept picking up the hammer and saying "Da-Da hammer?" He didn't want Minh to stop working!
Also, this week his grandma and I made a sheet set for his toddler bed! I'm planning on turning his crib into the toddler bed. Any suggestions?
I think that's about it! I hope everyone has a great week!
Until next week...
