Is My Toddler Ready for Toilet Training?
Your score was between 18 and 25!
It sounds like your child is at a stage where an introduction to the potty chair or toilet may be a good idea. If you haven't already, take your child
with you when you go to the bathroom. Read her books about toilet training. If she isn't already, encourage her to notice her elimination process. If she seems like she is having a bowel movement, ask her about it. When you change her diaper, tell her what you are doing: "Mommy is taking off your diaper...now we wipe your bottom." Keep watching for more signs of readiness as the weeks go on, and don't be discouraged if she doesn't seem interested.
Just remember that the age at which a child is ready to train varies widely. Some children are ready at 18 months while others, especially boys, may not be ready until they are nearly five years old. If you push your child too soon, he may develop a fear of the process. See the article "Toilet Training: Is My Child Ready?" for more information.
