Dr. Mother Nature
Natural Healing for Kids
By Crystal Patriarche
According to New York herbalist and book author Andrea Candee, there are several natural substances that can be both safer and more effective for healing basic ailments and injuries in children. In her book Gentle Healing for Baby and Child: A Parent's Guide to Child-Friendly Herbs and Other Natural Remedies for Common Ailments and Injuries (Pocket, 2001), Candee explains how to gingerly introduce herbal healing to kids. Her remedies include using banana peels for splinters, honey for burns and herbal peppermint tea for the common cold or a headache.
