A Summerland Oasis
Creating Outside Fun for Babies and Toddlers
By Amy Dingmann
Dress your child in long sleeves and hats and/or use sunblock. If you have a child who will keep sunglasses on, count yourself lucky and make use of their protection! Lastly, be sure liquid refreshments are readily available for those who are outdoors. Frozen treats can also come in handy.
Most important, never leave your children outside unattended, especially babies or toddlers. "It's a good idea to keep everything you'll need outside in a tote or basket," Brown says. "That way you can bring everything out at once and won't have to run back in the house."
Remember to take things like the phone, wipes, snacks, water or juice – and don't forget the camera. Snap a few pictures to help remember the wonderful summerland oasis of fun you've created with your child!
