Twin Toddlers Bearing Gifts
Making Mother's Day Special for Moms of Multiples By Alexandria Powell
Best of all, getting toddler twins involved in giving Mom some time alone is as easy as offering to babysit. OK, so that isn't always easy! But Mom is guaranteed to love the break. "You come back refreshed," says Lyons. "For a mother of multiples to have that time to just focus on herself or her friends or even her nails whatever she needs to do, is wonderful."
Dads or grandparents can help twins make a recording or video of them singing "Happy Mother's Day to You" (to the tune of "Happy Birthday"), says Kathryn Kaycoff Manos, a mother of twins from California. "Or you could just record them talking about how much they love Mom or what their favorite thing she's done for them is," she says. "Recording the twins at the same time and having them inspire the other makes for a lot of fun."

Slightly older toddlers will love creating cards or letters to tell Mom just how they feel. A tip from Fierro is to use this creating time as alone time for Mom as well. Take the kids into the playroom, supervise and assist and then help with the cleanup. That way, Mom has the gift of peace and quiet as well as a treasured handmade keepsake.
Moms may also enjoy gifts that celebrate their unique status as a mother of multiples, such as jewelry or other collectables, says Fierro.
"One year, the kids (my husband really) gave me a bracelet for Mother's Day," says Karen Spring, a New Jersey mom of 3-year-old twin boys. "It was a very delicate gold bracelet with golden topaz the boys' birthstone throughout. I thought it was a very sweet, thoughtful gift and surely not one I'd ever imagined getting. It's beautiful."
