Bye, Bye Babysitter
Parting With the Perfect Sitter Is Such Sweet Sorrow
By Lyn Mettler
the meaning of goodbye?
I never knew how much parenting would hurt. A good hurt, but the most painful hurt I have yet experienced. I guess this is just practice for all the bumps and bruises we'll navigate down the way.
For now, I just hope to help Patrick remember this first "love." We took some pictures and I saved the sweet and tear-jerking card she wrote to us. I'll paste it into his baby book and maybe someday we can fondly remember his days with her. And soon enough, I'm sure, we'll have a handful of other sitters' photos and cards to add to the collection. I only hope we like them as well as we did his first.
