The high costs of skiing and snowboarding forces many adults out of the sport after they have children. But Mt. Ashland Resort in Oregon offers great family incentives at a more economical price. As a non-profit, Mt. Ashland is in a unique position to offer prices that are unheard of at most resorts.

Mt. Ashland's Marketing Director, Gene Landsmann, believes that is one of the reasons why the resort has become so popular with families. Mt. Ashland is also very safety conscious. Though skiing can be dangerous if precautions aren't taken, Landsmann believes there is a vast exaggeration in many people's minds as to the actual danger of the sport.

Landsmann also believes it is imperative for children and other newcomers to attend skiing or snowboarding lessons, rather than relying on the often lacking expertise of friends or family members.
