Magnetic Letters
These letters make great teacher gifts or friend gifts. Spell out the teacher's name or the days of week. The magnets can also be replaced with VelcroŽ for those without magnetic surfaces.

You'll need:
Different colors of Fun Foam sheets
Ellision Die Cut Machine (if you have access to one)
Scissors
Magnets
Embellishments
Markers

1. If you do not have access to an Ellison Die Cut Machine, cut out the letters by hand. They are not difficult to do, and if you need guides, you can find several on the Internet. Simply find a pattern and style of letter you like, print it, purchase some tracing paper and trace onto the foam sheets.

2. After each letter is cut out, help your child attach the magnets to the back of each letter. Depending on the size of the letters, you might need more than one. (Note: Purchase rolls of adhesive magnets at an office supply store and cut them into small squares.)

3. After the magnets are secured, embellish the letters with whatever you have around the house. The sky is the limit as far as embellishments go! Use sequins, wiggle eyes, foam pieces, flat jewels, old buttons and pom poms.

4. After each letter is decorated and dry, attach them to the refrigerator. They can be used to learn the alphabet, the spelling of their name, their vowels, etc. Be creative!

Lego Frame
These frames make great teacher's gifts with coordinating school colors or by adding that special picture of your child and his teacher. You could also use holiday colors to build these frames and add holiday pictures.

You'll need:
Assortment of Legos
4x6-inch piece of construction cardstock paper
4x6-inch picture of choice
White glue

1. With approximately 16 4x2 Legos, draw a "frame" around the 4x6 piece of cardstock. This will create the base of the frame.

2. Use any size Legos to help build your creation, building on top and being as creative as you want to be.

3. After you are finished, it is a good idea to "rebuild" the creation adding white glue to help secure the frame and hold it together. You can also glue as you are building to save this step.

4. Glue the cardstock onto the back of the frame on the sides and the bottom, leaving the top seam open to slide the picture into.
