Baby Bottle Crafts
Recycle Leftover Bottles into Fun Crafts
By Renee Roberson
Aquarium in a Bottle: Has your child been wishing for a fish tank of his very own since watching the movie Finding Nemo? Fill the bottle with a mixture of half vegetable oil and half water, food coloring and silver glitter. Add miniature dolphin, fish, sharks, starfish and other sea creatures (you can find these at your local craft store). Superglue the bottle nipple and cap on tightly for a simple project that will keep your toddler mesmerized for hours.
Beach in a Bottle: Do you have dozens of tiny seashells left over from this year's beach vacation? Fill a baby bottle about halfway full with sand and mix in seashells. You can add a small rubber ball and miniature plastic boats from your local craft store. Superglue the bottle nipple and cap on tightly to protect your new masterpiece.
Baby Bottle Rattle: Place about 1/4 cup of uncooked rice, lentils or beans in the bottle. To make the rattle more colorful, add sequins and a few brightly colored beads. Superglue the bottle nipple and cap on the top of the bottle. For an added sensory delight, glue some craft ribbons with different colors and textures to the top of the bottle.
