Craft Projects With Nature in Mind

Cut the stems off of the silk flowers, leaving only 3 inches or so at the end. Help your child put a small amount of glue on the last inch of the flower stems and stick them into the wreath in various patterns. If you would like to reuse the wreath for different holidays, use pipe cleaners to secure the flowers to the wreath instead of glue. After the flowers are secured to the wreath, tie on the ribbon.
Tip: Depending on the age of your child, you could also let them put small pumpkins, gourds, leaves or other fall items on the wreath with hot glue or floral wire.
Animal Magnets
You'll need:
Animal crackers
Markers
Clear fingernail polish
Roll of magnets
White tacky glue or hot glue
Scissors
Here's what you help your child do:
Color the animal crackers with the markers. Let dry. Paint the entire animal cracker with the clear nail polish (front and back). Let dry. Attach a small piece of magnet to the back of each cracker using the glue. (Adult supervision is required due to the nail polish!)
Tip: These would make great teacher gifts for the holidays. If your child has a birthday or you are having a special party and need a craft for the kids, this would be great.
