Crafts to Make for Your Little One

Begin attaching the fabric by placing a dot of hot glue near the lip of the cover. Press fabric to the glue using the lip to line up the edge of the fabric. Directly across the lid place another dab of hot glue and secure the fabric. Halfway between these two spots, attach again. Continue until entire fabric circle is secured, making small gathers to fit the lid.
Variation
Paint and/or decoupage tins to match your child's room.
Recycled Art Table
Pick through your recyclables and clean them up to make a pint-sized art table.
You'll Need:
- large sturdy cardboard box (computer box used here measured 12 inches x 19 inches x 22 inches)
- shipping tape
- miscellaneous empty containers (three Play-Doh, one margarine and one cereal box are shown here)
- matte knife
- low temperature hot glue gun
- paint (optional)
Here's What You Do
Tape box closed. Use a matte knife to cut away extra box pieces. The opening in front should be at least 8 inches high so a toddler or preschooler can fit his legs comfortably underneath. Make cutting lines for pencil holders by tracing around your containers and cutting inside the line for a snug fit. Containers with a lip work the best. For your paper holder, tape the cereal box top closed.Cut off a side. Trace and cut out an area for the cereal box. Leave a flap on each side to glue to the cereal box. Paint if desired.
